This is a reliable T-type thermocouple with fiberglass insulation. The t-type sensor is at the tip of a 9 ft long wire probe, which has a medium temperature fiberglass insulation, good up to 752 degree Fahrenheit °F or 400 degree Celsius °C.
The T-type thermocouple has a miniature type connector (2 flat blades, made from thermocouple metal copper / constantan) that will work with digital T-type thermometers of many manufacturers (Nicety, Fluke, Extech, Omega). This thermocouple probe can be used to measure air or gas temperature, non corrosive liquids and the sensor can be attached to pipes or embedded into objects you want to measure.It is frequently used in the laboratory to measure liquid nitrogen, solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) and cooling liquids in cryogenics. It also is used in drying kilns in the wood industry.
This quality T-type thermocouple will read very low temperatures, if you have a suitable thermometer. I have tested this down to -350°F (-210°C). The miniature K-type thermocouple connector can easily be opened and you can shorten the wire if desired.
